Floaty flares

This 2 hour deep dive online masterclass is for anyone who wants to dig into the detail and difference of FLARES - dynamic vs. spinning - and their applications for rope and sling technique, transitions and choreo.

πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ Why I made it!

Over the years, I’ve often observed a lot of confusion about flares.

I mean, it’s hardly surprising! When I first started out on my own flares journey with dynamic (continuous) flares on rope, I could NOT get my head around how my body was going to turn away from the apparatus with my hands still attached 🀯🀣

BUT thanks to some excellent coaching they quickly β€˜clicked’ and became one of my favourite skills on rope and later sling. Then came my journey into spinning and wow were these flares (subtly) different. In my 1:1 coaching I often see the inverse confusion about dynamic flares from students who’ve learned spinning flares first.

So I made this masterclass to:

πŸ’ͺ put these two types of flares - dynamic and spinning - side by side
πŸ’ͺ dispel confusion about the differences
πŸ’ͺ help folks find clarity, accuracy and FLOAT in ALL their flares!

πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ Workshop content

In this 2 hour Zoom masterclass we:

πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ compare, contrast and clarify dynamic and spinning flares
πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ detail the engagements, strength and mobility needed for easeful and floaty flares - both spinny and swingy!
πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ examine the pathways and do some ground-based drills to help
πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ look at some applications of dynamic and spinning flares on rope and sling, including pick-ups (rope), inversion (rope and sling) and related skills

πŸ€“ This is a theory workshop and we’re not on-apparatus BUT we do go through some ground-based drills before getting into videos of the skills for you to apply/try in your own practice.

πŸ’» You will have access to the recording to download and keep forever.

Who it’s for

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈrope or sling folks who are nailing flares but would like to better understand their applications in transitions and choreo
πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈcoaches and nerds who want to review the details of flare technique and applications
