Shows.

I have over a decade of experience as an aerial harness performer - including bungee and counterweight - in touring (mostly) outdoor shows for inclusive (disabled/non-disabled) dance companies Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company and EVERYBODY dance. We performed and taught across venues and contexts in the UK, Germany, France and the US; from large music, circus and street theatre festivals, to special schools, playgrounds, parks, agricultural shows and rural landscapes.

TAKE: a dance in the park

Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company, 2009-2010

Funded by the 2009 Darwin bicentenary festival, this aerial harness trio explored the lives of three remarkable nineteenth century Shropshire women: Emma Darwin wife to Charles Darwin, Hesba Stretton writer and founder of the NSPCC, and botanist Lottie Byrne. It also drew from archive photographs of women circus performers in Quarry Park in Shrewsbury during the late 1800s. The choreography included novel use of trio counterweight, shared rope spinning, abseiling and interaction with the unique structure of the dome rig.
