Performance.
Iâm an aerialist and movement artist who creates performance and film, often using aerial apparatus (rope, sling, harness) in curious juxtaposition to sites, spaces, objects and bodies. Iâm a skilled aerialist who makes technical or traditional acts and I'm also a contemporary performance artist who likes playing with aerial in unorthodox ways. I have an idiosyncratic movement style and often work with task-based scores or pedestrian gestures.
The principal curiosity that interweaves my coaching, technical and creative practices is momentum and how it can be generated, utilised, played with authentically beyond the concept of a trick or skill, and without inhibiting its natural path through the body and space.
I also have a decadeâs experience as a harness performer (counterweight/bungee) in touring outdoor shows and have made my own site-specific and experimental harness work.
